Dr. Salvatore M. Zavarella is a board-certified neurosurgeon and Co-Founder of NeuroCare Long Island, where he serves as Director of Spine Surgery. He also serves as Vice Chairman at South Shore University Hospital, part of the Northwell Health system.
In addition, Dr. Zavarella serves as Director of Business Development for Neurosurgery for the Eastern Region of Northwell Health, helping expand access to advanced neurosurgical care across Long Island.
Previously, Dr. Zavarella served as Chief of Spine Surgery and Associate Chief of Neurosurgery at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, New York.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Zavarella is committed to giving back to the global medical community. Through his work with The Butterfly Foundation, he has participated in multiple medical missions to the Dominican Republic, where he collaborates with local surgeons and performs life-changing spinal deformity surgeries in underserved communities.
Our practice makes every effort to contract with most insurance companies to help keep out-of-pocket expenses to a minimum for our patients.
We work with most major insurance plans, such as Medicare and Medicaid as well as No Fault and Workers’ Comp, and our team will assist you in navigating any billing and insurance questions you might have including those regarding out-of-network benefits.
